Lunch Session: International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are the principles-based financial reporting requirements adhered to by more and more countries worldwide. Conversion to IFRS is well underway in many nations, including Canada, India, Japan and Mexico. These standards are very likely coming to the United States as well, although the timing is uncertain with the SEC pondering changes to its proposed Roadmap. A shift from US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to IFRS affects not only the accounting and finance functions, but also the information systems that are vital to supporting those functions. Has your IT organization considered the impact of IFRS on its systems?
Please join us for a presentation on how IT organizations are planning for IFRS: • Latest developments on SEC’s proposed Roadmap • Infrastructure considerations • IFRS transition diagnostic / assessment • Impact of IFRS on information systems • Recommended practices for IFRS readiness assessment
Afternoon Session: Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance continues to move up in priority and IT security spend as the card brands Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, and Discover ramp up enforcement of the Data Security Standards (DSS) required for merchants or service providers which store, process, or transmit cardholder data. During this time of increased attention, merchants are teaming up with vendors and service providers to identify and deploy technologies such as end-to-end encryption and tokenization with the intent of reducing their scope of compliance and enhancing their protection over cardholder data. Come join us for a discussion of the technologies PwC is seeing in the marketplace, as well as other PCI hot topics on the minds of Internal Audit and Security professionals including the Internal Security Assessor program and the next version of the DSS.
